Ava Kris Tyson LEAVES MrBeast’s Crew After ‘Disgusting’ Grooming Allegations
[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]
Whoa. MrBeast‘s crew member Ava Kris Tyson is walking away from the company after being called out for allegedly speaking inappropriately to a minor!
If you missed it, a YouTuber named Prism42 dug up a ton of alleged messages shared between Ava and a teen boy (who goes by Lava online), beginning when the alleged victim was around 13 and the content creator was 20. Ava was seen joking about sending “noods,” and then the pair met up a few years into the online friendship. Lava already came forward and hit back at all the allegations, insisting Ava did nothing wrong. But now, Ava is apologizing AND stepping back from her job!

On Tuesday, Ava — who came out as a transgender woman last year — took to X (Twitter) to react to the viral scandal, saying:
“I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone. It was not my intent. Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health.”
Just a few hours later, Ava returned to the social media platform to hit back at grooming allegations, adding:
“I want to add, I never groomed anyone. The person who gets brought up in these accusations @LavaGS has vocally supported that they are false.”
She went on:
“Having said that, I humbly apologise to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts, past actions, and to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online.”
Vehemently denying the “disgusting” allegations, she slammed:
“To lump these two factors together to create a narrative that my behavior extended beyond bad edgy jokes is disgusting and did not happen. In past years, I have learned that my old humor is not acceptable. I cannot change who I was, but I can continue to work on myself”
As for why she chose to leave her job over this, she noted:
“I don’t want these accusations to impact the hundreds of people who work at MrBeast, which is why I have stepped away”
Ava has been appearing in videos and acting as star Jimmy Donaldson‘s co-host since the channel launched in 2012, so her exit is a big deal. At this time, MrBeast has not directly reacted to the drama.
But while there has obviously been a TON of hate sent Ava’s way amid these nasty allegations — and a lot of it has been very transphobic — not everyone is convinced about the grooming claims. Defending her, someone wrote:
“if there is genuine proof of ava kris tyson being a pedophile, i will take every tweet down where ive ever defended her from such accusations but ive yet to see any valid proof of that so far it’s all coming from transphobic right wingers that were already after her prior”
FWIW, alleged screenshots of sexually-charged online messages were unearthed. And while Ava may have thought they were just “edgy” jokes at the time, they certainly weren’t anything she should’ve been allegedly saying to a child! The transphobia is terrible, but that shouldn’t discredit all the allegations — especially as more and more stuff comes out. Just saying.
BTW, many clips of Tyson interacting with Shadman, an artist known for drawing young characters in sexual poses, have now gone viral. In one post, she begs the artist to “draw a 10-year-old anime girl” while other videos show Ava sexualizing cartoon children, such as a pornographic drawing of the children’s TV character Caillou. So, that’s gross. You can see more about those allegations HERE.
Despite all the controversy, Lava, the alleged victim, is still sticking by Ava’s side. Reacting to her statement, he said:
“I’m sorry that people are making up lies with my name in them. I hope everyone sees the truth soon, you never did anything wrong to me. Nothing inappropriate happened between us”
Clearly, this scandal is only just heating up. We’ll be curious to see what (if anything) MrBeast has to say!
